Make an Online Payment
For all domestic students in the United States, Columbia University recommends online payment through our secure payment portal.
Make online payments that debit a U.S. bank account (with U.S. address) 24 hours a day, seven days a week through the secure online billing website QuikPAY (powered by Nelnet). Your ACH eCheck payments appear immediately as pending credits alongside the new balance amount on the QuikPAY and Student Services Online (SSOL) websites. Students can access QuikPAY through SSOL while Authorized Payers must access QuikPAY directly.
The maximum amount per eCheck transaction is $90,000.
A confirmation number is given after electronic payment has been accepted. If a hold on a student’s account due to an outstanding balance needs to be removed immediately, he or she may use this number (in an email, on the phone, or in person) to ask to have the hold removed.
When Will the Payment Post to the Student Account?
An eCheck payment will appear immediately as a pending credit, along with the new balance amount, on the QuikPAY and Student Services Online (SSOL) websites. eCheck payments must be received by 10:00 p.m. EST to post to the student's account by the following business day. Payments received after 10:00 p.m. EST will not be posted to the student account until the second business day.
Please note: Access to making eCheck payments will be blocked if two unsuccessful payments are attempted. If your access is blocked, you will need to choose an alternative payment method.
